Lauren Kelly, Court of Protection Costs Specialist

Lauren graduated from Birmingham City University in 2023 with a 2:1 Undergraduate Degree in Law. She began her legal career as a Court of Protection paralegal during her third-year placement and continued this after graduating. In her paralegal role, Lauren was specialising in assisting with property and financial affairs for vulnerable clients. In this role, Lauren worked closely with clients and developed a strong understanding of the deputy’s responsibilities and the vital impact they have on the lives of those they are appointed for.

In January 2025, Lauren joined A&M Bacon as a trainee costs draftsman. She draws on her previous experience in the Court of Protection sector to ensure accuracy and precision in all aspects of her costs work. Her attention to detail and client-focused approach helps support the recoverability of legal costs, and she is eager to continue expanding her expertise in this area.

Outside of work, Lauren enjoys running, hiking and spending time with family and friends.
