Scott Kemp is a Costs Lawyer specialising in Court of Protection costs, with extensive experience helping legal professionals maximise costs recovery and navigate complex costs issues effectively and efficiently.

Having worked both in-house and within specialist costs law providers, Scott brings a well-rounded perspective to his work. His experience provides a strong understanding of the technical aspects of costs law, combined with a practical appreciation of the challenges faced by legal practices in recovering their costs.

Throughout his career, Scott has worked with a diverse range of clients, from sole practitioners and boutique firms to large regional and national law firms. This breadth of experience enables him to adapt his approach to each client’s specific requirements, delivering a tailored service that is both responsive and commercially focused.

Court of Protection costs form a core part of Scott’s practice. He has extensive experience assisting professional deputies with the preparation and recovery of deputyship costs, managing assessments through the Senior Courts Costs Office, and ensuring compliance with the relevant rules and guidance. His aim is to help clients achieve the maximum reasonable recovery while maintaining a smooth and efficient assessment process.

In addition to his Court of Protection expertise, Scott has experience in litigation costs, including the preparation of bills of costs, costs negotiations and providing strategic costs advice.
